Program Outcomes

Graduates of the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design will be able to:

PO1. Apply civil engineering and construction design knowledge, mathematics and technical principles to well-defined civil construction design problems consistent with Engineering Associate practice.

PO2. Produce, interpret and manage civil construction design drawings, models and technical documentation in accordance with industry standards, codes and specifications.

PO3. Use industry-standard civil design and drafting tools and technologies to support civil engineering design and construction activities.

PO4. Apply engineering standards, WHS, environmental and sustainability requirements to civil construction design tasks and project documentation.

PO5. Support civil engineering projects through technical analysis, design coordination and problem-solving, working within defined engineering practice boundaries and under appropriate supervision.

PO6. Communicate effectively with engineers, construction personnel and other stakeholders, contributing to multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

PO7. Demonstrate professional, ethical and responsible practice aligned with the role of a Civil Engineering Draftsperson / Civil Construction Designer/Civil Engineering Technician, including recognition of role limitations and the need for ongoing professional development.
